Overview
OMRF Langston University Biomedical Research Scholars (OLU-BRS) are paid to work in OMRF laboratories on research projects under the guidance of OMRF scientific mentors for at least 8 weeks over the summer. Following the successful completion of the summer program, scholars may have the option to continue their work at OMRF for multiple academic years. Participating students will be chosen by a joint selection committee consisting of representatives from OMRF and Langston University. OMRF will provide dormitory housing free of charge to all students who live outside of the OKC Metro area (defined as a 40-mile radius from OMRF).

Following the successful completion of the summer program, scholars may have the option to continue their work at OMRF for multiple academic years.

Responsibilities
Scholars work for 8 weeks in the summer (June 5th - July 28th) in state-of-the-art biomedical research laboratories on individual projects and are supervised by senior members of the OMRF scientific staff. Scholars attend weekly seminars as well as occasional social events as a group. On the final day of the program, scholars give formal scientific seminars outlining the findings of their projects. Each scholar also writes a scientific paper summarizing their summer project.

All complete application packets must be submitted or postmarked by January 23,2023.


Qualifications
Applicants must be currently enrolled Langston University students and have a passion for science.
