Position Purpose
The Engineer III is responsible for the technical architecture and design of proprietary software and distributed solutions for ITC.
The Client Solutions Engineer III leads administration, development, and integration of enterprise solutions that support current and future institutional technology operations and initiatives. The Engineer III is a leader with a great deal of experience in architecting, designing, and developing software and distributed solutions.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelor's degree
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
5-7 plus years relevant work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with two or more of the following programming languages: Golang, Javascript, Python, Rust, PHP, C/C++/C#, SQL, Lua, Dart, Swift, Java.
Experience scoping, designing, and developing a software project
Experience resolving complex problems (Front-end, Back-end, Platform)
Experience leading multi-developer projects
Experience integrating distributed systems including networking.
Experience in containerization/virtualization
Experience with automation used to deploy and maintain complex systems.
Experience developing REST APIs.
Ability to identify client need and put it in the broader context of the Dartmouth ecosystem.
Experience in designing and developing unique and/or custom technology solutions.
Experience configuring and managing account and access control.
Demonstrated expertise in performing root cause analysis on distributed systems.
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
Experience leading client relationships and consulting in the design and development of solutions.
Experience using project management methodologies related to software development.
Experience leading projects with Agile methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate on teams and lead team initiatives.
Experience mentoring and teaching others.
Demonstrated ability to learn solutions and programming languages.
Demonstrated ability to guide and advise on best practice and innovative technology solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in automation, orchestration, or containerization.
Experience leading teams using Agile methodologies.
Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or related field.
Experience in configuring SSO and SAML.

Build relationships and consults with client departments to design and deliver technology solutions aligned to departmental business objectives.
Leads projects at an institutional level.
Collaborates with internal and external teams to share information, build relationships, and accomplish shared goals.

Description
Solution Management

Manages enterprise solutions including reviewing of and advising on new features and upgrades.
Develops and designs access control for enterprise solutions.
Leads response team for Tier 3 support issues.
Troubleshoots containerization/virtualization platforms.
Structures and contextualizes knowledge materials for enterprise solutions.
Leads knowledge management process improvement.
Leads campus governance and communications regarding enterprise solutions.

Description
Training and Development

Trains and mentors colleagues in areas of expertise.
Proactively identifies and pursues training to develop subject matter expertise.
Provides direction for Client Solutions Engineering in areas of expertise.
