We invite applications for a Nontenure Faculty member to serve as an instructor for Nutrition and Dietetics in the Department of Nutrition and Health Science and to join us in preparing today’s public health and health services workforce. This is a one year contract faculty opportunity.

We seek faculty candidates with a master’s degree or higher in Dietetics, Nutrition Science, or other nutrition-related discipline. Successful candidates should have good interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively and congenially and be skilled in developing and teaching dietetics and nutrition science courses to students with a range of aptitude. Online teaching experience is also desirable as is experience in curriculum development and assessment and holding an RDN credential.

Rank will be at the Assistant or Associate Lecturer level. For candidates who hold a doctorate in a related area, appointment can be considered at the Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor rank. Successful candidates are expected to work on campus in Muncie to allow full engagement with students, department, college, and university colleagues, and the community.

The College of Health. A vital health resource for Indiana in preparing health professionals, the College of Health is moving boldly forward in making interprofessional education, practice and research its paradigm across its disciplines. The College offers 32 academic programs in 7 units: Departments of Counseling Psychology, Social Psychology, and Counseling; Military Science; Nutrition and Health Science; Speech Pathology and Audiology; and Social Work plus the Schools of Nursing and Kinesiology. Our 224 faculty and staff serve nearly 3,000 students. We partner with the communities of East Central Indiana for immersive learning and research. Our Health Professions Building was opened in 2019 with 165,000 square feet and is LEED Gold certified. Our Interprofessional Community Clinics offers a range of health and mental health services by students supervised by faculty as well as community health education and prevention services through the Healthy Lifestyle Center. Minimum Experience:

1. MS/MA or PhD in Dietetics, Nutrition Science or other nutrition-related discipline from an accredited institution.
2. At least one year of successful on-campus or online teaching at the university level among students with a range of aptitudes.
3. Effective written communication skills.
4. Effective oral communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

1. More than 1 year of successful campus or online university teaching experience
2. More than 1 year of professional nutrition-related experience
3. Experience in curriculum development.
4. Experience in curriculum assessment.
5. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential
