Rider University’s Division of Student Affairs is one of 30 campuses recognized in 2021 by Diverse Issues and ACPA as a Most Promising Place to Work in Student Affairs.

Rider University invites applications for a Community Director to be the primary staff member in an assigned residence hall with responsibilities that include hall administration, staff supervision, counseling and advisement of students and student groups. In addition, the Community Director will serve as the primary point person for the management of the Residence Life Instagram account and will propose and develop opportunities for student engagement through the use of social media platforms.

This 12-month position includes a full benefits package, a furnished apartment and a full meal plan.  Start date preferably January-February 2022, but flexible per needs of selected candidate through summer 2022.  

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in Residence Life, Student Leadership, Campus Life/Activities or Community Standards. 
  • Flexibility with work schedule is necessary as weekends and evenings are required. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of diversity and an ability to work with a wide variety of people. 
  • Proven commitment to providing leadership in enhancing an atmosphere of diversity and inclusion.  
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions, advise and motivate student groups, set goals and strive for continuous improvement. 
  • A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
