JOB DESCRIPTION:
Summary:

This position is in the College of Education, Humanities, and Behavioral Sciences. This a full-time, 9-month faculty position. The rank and tenure status of the position is negotiable based on qualifications. The position will teach applied music - voice to undergraduate and graduate music majors/minors whose principal performance area is voice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach applied music-voice and related method/technique classes to music majors and minors.
Teach Music Appreciation sections.
Provide positive team-oriented interaction with colleagues regarding curriculum and program decisions and model energetic and professional demeanor to students.
Advise undergraduate and graduate students.
Serve on Department, College, and University Committees.
Research, proposals with external funding, and scholarly publications in juried music journals or related areas, along with professional service to the university, community, and profession.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.):

Doctorate Musical Arts (DMA) in Voice
3-6 years' experience in teaching voice at college/university level
Record of concert/recital Performances
Current memberships in professional music organizations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of voice pedagogy, techniques, literature and voice methods
Demonstrate performing excellence in voice (recitals, concerts)
Excellent communication skills, oral and written
Ability to motivate talented majors
Ability to contribute to academic program development (undergraduate and graduate)
Production of articles in scholarly juried journals
Serve on department, college and university committees
