Job Description

Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Associate (PhD, MD, MS) positions to study novel approaches to understand and treat X-linked intellectual disabilities and autism. Epigenetic approaches based on innovative gene reactivation technologies will be used. Projects will investigate mechanisms of action, discover new biological principles, and enhance reactivation methodologies on those bases. Molecular, cellular, in vivo, and -omics tools will be applied. Ample opportunities for training, skills acquisition, career development, and development of intellectual property. The position will involve a combination of independent work as well as close collaboration with students, fellows, clinicians, and bioinformaticians. Because of the interactive nature of the lab, excellent oral and written communication skills are also critical.

Specific Duties include but are not limited to:
• Design, execute, and synthesize data collected from research experiments.
• Assemble data into figures and text for publication
• Interface with laboratory personnel as needed to learn/train/mentor
• Contribute to scientific literature and present research at scientific forums

Job Requirements:
• PhD, MD, or Masters in the biomedical field
• M.S. / Masters-level scientists with appropriate expertise are also welcomed to apply
• Strong research design and analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and productively
• Demonstrated ability to learn new skills and take on scientific challenges
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration spirit
• Basic skills requirements: Basic molecular biology, molecular cloning, stem cell culture, PCR, protein/DNA/RNA blotting.
• Experience in mouse genetics, mouse physiology, and mouse disease modeling is a plus but is not a prerequisite.
• Candidates will either have experience in or be facile at learning: ChIP, CRISPR genome editing, and -omics technologies.
