Position Information
BASIC FUNCTION:

The purpose of this position is to perform database administration in support of the School of Education. The position is responsible for supervision and provision of data entry support, analysis, and reporting. Develop, maintain and manage the office databases, list serves and other applications. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the database, and upkeep of coding structure. Continually update and correct database records. Produce reports from the database, using standard and custom reports. Create and manage procedures for storing data using the latest management systems. . Import and export data, extracting and analyzing data, data mapping. Ensure accurate, timely report writing. Understand the basic functions of report writing for various organizations such as federal agencies and accrediting organizations.

SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:

Responsible for orienting and training others for one or more functions within a department on data reporting and analysis. Lead efforts on state, federal and accreditation reporting where appropriate. Serve as liaison to internal and external committees.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Internal contacts generally include administrators, faculty, students and staff. External contacts generally include state, federal and accreditation officials, assessment vendors, consultants, visitors and the general public.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Serve as the primary contact for all internal and external reporting and data queries
Maintain the security, accuracy and integrity of the database and list serves for all office functions.
Provides updates and maintenance to the School of Education’s website
Process regular data workflow and analytic reports.
Routinely examines and cleanses current data records to ensure data accuracy.
Manage the input, maintenance and exporting of mailing lists and production of bulk mailing.
Establish technical business goals for the database area.
Serves as the technical expert for the Office of the Dean. Offer technical support faculty and other school officials as needed
Provide support for the School of Education’s internal and external reporting requirements (I.e. assessment plan, annual reports, strategic planning and data analysis for credentialing and accreditation)
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
CORE COMPETENCIES:

Experience in database systems, data entry and report writing/presentations.
Broad knowledge of reporting for various agencies
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Strong conceptual, analytical and integrative thinking. Demonstrates initiative.
Able to manage structured autonomy.
Proficiency with Banner and related software applications.
Detailed oriented and organized.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field. Minimum of 3-6 years experience working directly with technology. Eleven years of related work experience may be substituted in lieu of educational qualifications.
