Job Description

The Administrative Coordinator is a full time staff position supporting the administrative aspects of the Physician Assistant (PA) program. This position is based at Arcadia University's Glenside, Pennsylvania campus in the Department of Medical Science. Administrative Coordinators handle clerical and administrative duties, analyze and improve office processes and policies, and ensure that the office operates smoothly. This position requires analytical and organizational skills, exceptional communication and problem solving skills, and the ability to handle office duties and optimize office operations. The Administrative Coordinator will analyze processes and policies, develop creative solutions to problems, serve as a key point of contact for internal and external parties, and take part in financial planning and decision making. Successful performance in this position requires courteous and attentive communication, and a proactive approach that produces consistent, efficient operations.

Essential Functions

Providing direct support to the Department Chair
Hiring, supervising, and evaluating staff members
Delegating tasks and ensuring that they are completed in accordance with existing policies and procedures
Developing and implementing new policies and processes
Handling basic office duties, such as answering calls, responding to emails, maintaining records, and data entry and reporting
Handling advanced administrative tasks, such as managing the department budget, preparing and reviewing contracts, and developing and maintaining records systems
Answering questions, finding information and facilitating program communications
Ensuring that the office is well-maintained, organized, and secure
Assisting with special projects as assigned

Marginal Functions

Supports the department by performing all other duties as assigned by the department head
