Job Summary
The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment provides Chandler-Gilbert Community College faculty with opportunities for growth as professional educators and the means to learn innovative teaching strategies for all instructional environments. Reporting to the Teaching and Learning Director, the incumbent is a vital member of the CTLA team who is passionate about learning, pedagogy, and technology. A key requirement of this position is the ability to consult with faculty to ensure a high-quality learning experience for students, including the design of instructional modules, appropriate learning activities, and assessment tools. This position is responsible for developing and conducting trainings on instructional practices and design principles that promote quality, innovation, and the integration of technology into the processes of teaching, learning, and assessment. In addition, this position supports the CTLA in coordination of institutional assessment initiatives and externally funded program development.

Essential Functions
50% - Consult and collaborate with faculty on pedagogically sound and effective use of instructional design strategies, web-based resources, multimedia technologies, and instructional systems for course development and improvement using accepted blended and online design standards

20% - Collaborate with faculty to develop assessments of pedagogical effectiveness and student learning outcomes Support assessment initiatives

10% - Organize and lead workshops to promote faculty competencies in digital learning and best practices in integrating technology in traditional, blended, and online course design and teaching

10% - Seek and support externally funded program development opportunities

10% - Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in instructional design, training and development, educational technology or related field and (4) four years of experience in instructional design and development, program and systems development and/or assessment and evaluation.

OR

Associate’s Degree and (6) six years of experience in instructional design and development, program and systems development and/or assessment and evaluation.

OR

High School Diploma or G.E.D and (8) eight years of experience in instructional design and development, program and systems development and/or assessment and evaluation.

Desired Qualifications
1. Master’s degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or closely related field.

2. Progressive experience with instructional design, educational technology, and learning management systems

3. Two (2) or more years of experience working with faculty supporting the integration of instructional technologies; knowledge of learning theory, pedagogical practices, and assessment techniques

4. Two (2) or more years of experience supporting externally funded online course development projects

5. Two (2) or more years of experience supervising subject matter experts and managing course development projects including OER development

6. Experience developing and delivering instructional materials using Canvas

7. Teaching experience in an online environment in a K-12 and/or higher education setting

Special Working Conditions
