The Department of Foreign Language Studies at Providence College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in French for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Candidates must possess a PhD in French, demonstrate an established record of scholarly activity, excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, and a willingness to be active in service to the college and community.

Essential Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to teach all levels of French language, as well as courses in Francophone literature and culture at the undergraduate level; engage with students to promote interest in the study of French and the Francophone world; and participate in departmental and college activities.

Education and Experience Required
PhD in French in hand; record of and commitment to scholarly research and publication; proof of teaching experience at various levels; native or near-native fluency and cultural competency are essential. Generalists with multi-cultural and interdisciplinary interests are particularly welcome.
