Job Summary:

The Training Coordinator manages the College’s CDL Training program at the Fort Lupton campus. Responsibilities include: supervising an open pool of part-time CDL instructors and certified third party examiners; serving as a liaison on behalf of the College to the state Compliance office; maintaining all required state compliance records and certifications; screening and registering students; and promoting the training program to area industries for student placement and specialized training. Extensive student mentoring is required to assist students in overcoming barriers such as language, understanding pre-screening and training requirements; connecting their learning to current industry standards; and placing them successfully in jobs upon training completion.

Duties, Roles & Responsibilities:
-Oversee the intake, registration, mentoring and placement of all CDL students to ensure effective, fair processes are adhered to.
-Hire, supervise and maintain an active pool of certified part-time instructors and third party examiners to meet student, community and industry demands.
-Serve as a liaison for the College to the appropriate state compliance office(s) to ensure all required processes, regulations and certifications are maintained for the training program.
-Develop, maintain, and communicate a weekly training schedule for all students, instructors and examiners.
-Oversee the effective data entry, publication and record keeping of all CDL courses and student registrations into the appropriate college systems. (i.e. Lumens, Workday, aims.edu)
-Manage the program’s income and expenditures per the established fiscal budget and goals.
-Engage in community and internal outreach to increase program enrollment and maintain a high student placement rate as well as responsiveness to industry training requests.

Functional Attributes of Job Duty
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Hold a current Colorado CDL Class A license
Certified Colorado CDL Third Party Examiner
Minimum three years experience as a CDL Class A driver, CDL Trainer, third party examiner or related experience.
Bachelor’s degree in construction or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Proficient in Microsoft office computer software and other office technology tasks such as using email, databases, and scanning.

Preferred Qualifications
Three years or more direct experience working with CDL compliance, teaching for a CDL Training program and/or as a certified CDL third party examiner.

Bilingual English/Spanish & outreach capabilities to non-traditional workers would be extremely desirable.

Work Hours 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday, and flexibility to meet with clients or help with training during odd hours or weekends is desirable.
