The University of Colorado and Leeds School of Business encourages applications for a Director of Human Resources. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Administration and Finance, this position oversees Leeds HR operations, which provides quality HR services to attract, develop, motivate and retain a diverse and highly effective workforce capable of advancing the academic mission. Working in collaboration with campus departments, this strategic Human Resources professional provides leadership and guidance in the development, implementation, and equitable administration of policies and processes with the college.

Employee Relations
Execute Leeds’ performance management strategy. Oversee performance review and goal setting process ensuring that all staff are reviewed on time, receive thoughtful evaluations, and are given effective feedback; coordinate and communicate annual timelines and processes. Manage Cornerstone reporting and assures staff are in compliance.
Work with University HR and Legal to protect the school when taking binding action affecting staff member pay and other personnel actions up to termination. Enforce staff corrective and disciplinary actions, up to and including termination; manage staff progressive action process and collaborate with HR and Legal regarding staff actions taken while compiling records/evidence if called to defend action taken.
Serve as the main resource for compliance with University, State and Federal employment rules; advises supervisors and staff accordingly.
Liaise with Human Resources, OFA, Office of Discrimination and Harassment, Student Employment, Risk Management, Provost’s Office and Employee Services to collaborate with, address and resolve personnel issues that arise.
Administer awards programs.
Direct and maintain the employee years of service program.
Advising, Collaborating, and Communication
Maintain compliance and act as the subject matter specialist regarding campus policy, federal and state law, and HR standard methodologies.
Represent Leeds as the strategic HR professional at various campus-wide and college meetings.
Undertake administrative projects as requested by school leadership.
Assure HR information on the website, intranet, and in Salesforce is accurate and updated in a timely manner.
Provide trainings on HR-related topics.
Manage the staff supervisors' committee.
Complete annual AACSB surveys.
Guide staff in gaining a clear understanding and articulation of Leeds' mission, vision, and values.
Serve as a member of the Associate Dean's leadership team, working in close collaboration with all units within the organization.
Personnel and Payroll Management
Collaborate with school leadership to ensure a detailed understanding of college strategy and tactics related to employee development, organizational effectiveness, progressive action, leadership planning, compensation, classification, and recruiting. Ensure the tools, products and services created by Campus HR are deployed, understood and utilized, and that highly effective communication channels flow between the college and Campus HR. Develop and manage compensation and leadership planning strategies for the college.
Oversee and manage college-wide HR functions responsible for faculty, staff, and student employment processes; recruiting, diversity, retention, progressive action, compensation, performance management, employee relations, organizational development, employment practices and development and administration of college policies.
Maintain personnel files and records in alignment with retention policies.
Oversee audits of leave, appointments, payroll, personnel files, FMLA, and other HR programs.
Verify data accuracy and completeness of the staff and faculty roster for the annual budget process, the staff and faculty census, and the campus performance review processes.
Supervision
Provide leadership through regular communications, active goal setting, and routine coaching to model and promote behavior that aligns with the school's core values.
Organize and plan work to ensure appropriate prioritization and timely deliverables.
Evaluate the HR Unit structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group, and provide team members with professional and personal growth and development.
Continued Process Improvement
Implement and encourage process improvement via technology for improved efficiencies to create a productive workforce.
Investigate, analyze, and report information and recommends solutions that optimize the college’s human resources and operations.
