Job Summary/Basic Function:
Assist with studies directed towards understanding the molecular and functional mechanisms associated with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus development, pathology and severity. Duties will include assisting with a variety of immunological and molecular biology techniques (flow cytometry, single cell transcriptomics, imaging cytometry, CRISPR/Cas9 somatic cell gene editing, tissue culture, humanized mouse models, ELISAs, immunoblotting). The successful candidate will have skills and character traits such as good attention to detail, meticulous maintenance of digital lab notebook, ability to problem solve, ability to work within a very diverse team-based lab.

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
Should be familiar with lab techniques. Computer skills required. Excellent organization, oral and written communication skills required. Must be professional, team oriented, and personable. Must be able to take direction, follow instructions and take meticulous records.
Minimum Degree Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Hours: Typically Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.
BS/BA degree (or nearly completed degree) in one of the biological sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, engineering with a biology minor. Previous experience in immunology or clinical research a plus. GPA 3.0 or higher is preferred. Some data analytics/biostatistic (R, scripting/programming), data visualization (Spotfire, Tableux, Prism/Graphpad) and bioinformatics would be helpful, but not necessary.
Regularly required to stand, use manual dexterity, talk or hear; Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms; occasionally sit; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or rodent dander. May work with toxic, caustic chemicals, radioactive materials, liquid nitrogen, human tissue or blood. Potential risk of electrical shock. Occasional exposure to cold 4C, and/or extreme cold -80C from freezers. Noise level is usually moderate.
