Job Summary/Basic Function:
Our Biorepository and Human Phenotyping Cores, which support our clinical and translational research investigators, have positions for both entry level and experienced technical support. Candidates should be highly organized, motivated and team oriented. Duties will include all repository activities related to receipt, processing, storage, maintenance and records management of human blood and tissue samples related to studies and clinical trials in a CAP (College of American Pathologists) certified facility. Successful individuals will be trained in specific testing and data analysis of human phenotyping assays as required. Individual will need to be comfortable working in cold temperatures with appropriate personal safety protections and working with human samples.

Bachelor’s degree typically in one of the biological sciences or equivalent years of professional, relevant laboratory experience.
Should have experience with lab techniques and using computers and databases. Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, organizational skills and strong work ethic. Must be professional, team oriented, and personable. Must be able to take direction, follow instructions and take meticulous records. Has an interest in helping in patient-oriented clinical research.
Minimum Degree Required:
Work Hours: Typically Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.
Previous Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics exposure highly preferred.
Regularly required to stand, use manual dexterity, talk or hear; Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms; occasionally sit; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or rodent dander. May work with toxic, caustic chemicals, radioactive materials, liquid nitrogen, human tissue or blood. Potential risk of electrical shock. Occasional exposure to cold 4C, and/or extreme cold -80C from freezers. Noise level is usually moderate.
