Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
1. Bachelor’s degree in radio/TV/film from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience; OR
2. Associate degree or higher in radio/TV/film from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of experience; OR
3. Valid California Community College instructor credential appropriate to the subject per Education Code 87355 (issued prior to July 1, 1990); OR
4. A combination of education or experience that is at least the equivalent of items 1 and 2 above (Applicants applying on the basis of equivalency must complete all Equivalency questions on their application in addition to all other required materials).


Experience Required:

• One year (full or part time) of recent and successful experience teaching lower-division courses in Film Production and Cinema/Television/Radio (CTVR) (Critical Studies)
• Three years (full or part time) experience teaching courses in Film Production and Cinema/Television/Radio (CTVR) (Critical Studies) in a hands-on setting at the secondary or post-secondary level
• Evidence of and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.


Desired Qualifications:

MFA in Film Production
Demonstrated ability to develop and contribute to an integrated, lab-based CTVR program at the post-secondary level
• Recent work experience in Film Production and Cinema/Television/Radio (CTVR) and/or production credits
• Recent teaching experience in Film Production and and Cinema/Television/Radio (CTVR) (Critical Studies) for no less than three years or equivalent at the post-secondary level with a preference at a community college
• Demonstrated ability in the acquisition and facilitation of grants appropriate to the department at the post-secondary level
Knowledge of and a proven ability to integrate instructional technology in the classroom
• Proven ability to offer diverse instructional technique for a wide range of learning styles
