Position Purpose
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Facilities, the Facilities Coordinator is assigned to many aspects of operating and maintaining the Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth both in facility and programs as well as associated office space. This position works closely with all internal departments as well as external services providers. With close working relationships throughout all areas of the Hop and associated departments on campus, the Facilities Coordinator is responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations and projects. The Facilities Coordinator also ensures that facilities function and are incorporated effectively into the performances and events schedule while maintaining and emphasizing facilities policies, procedures and systems.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience preferably in arts related and/or higher education field.
- This position requires the ability to work effectively with varied constituents including in a performing arts and College environment.
- The ability to act with discretion and handle sensitive, confidential information.
- Attention to detail; handle many projects simultaneously; and demonstrate good judgment and maturity in decision-making.
- Experience with database, scheduling and information systems (IT and/or computer programming is not required).
- Competence with office equipment and technology, including Internet, email, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to be a team player and a team leader; motivate others and contribute.
- Must have the ability to work collaboratively across the organization.
- Problem-solver with strong initiative to get the job done.
- Work nights and weekends on occasion to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Preferred Qualifications
- An understanding of working with unionized labor.
- EMS experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with sound, light and video in a theater setting.

50% Coordination of Departmental & College Policies
- Proficient in understanding building policies and space usage throughout the Hop as well as the Arts District.
- Coordinates and schedules using EMS and internal Hop collaboration platforms.
- Can serve as the communication liaison between campus services and building occupants.
- Prepares building response plans and coordinates education and planning .
- Advises of potential fiscal impact of building and equipment requirements as well as conflicts.
- Relationships include but are not limited to partners at Dartmouth Dining, custodial services, FO&M shops and Campus IT, EH&S, C&E, CTS, Campus Services, Hood, Library, academic departments and beyond.

50% Facilities Functions & Administration

- Coordinates maintenance programs.
- Coordinates security and custodial related systems and staff.
- May coordinate with appropriate local, state and regional agencies to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- May coordinate event traffic needs with appropriate authorities.
- Understanding of front of house and production processes and needs, particularly those in a union house.
- Manages facility key tracking systems.
- Provides administrative support in the department with respect to emergency procedures;
- Supports administratively the standards of use for the Hopkins Center including but not limited to; access, equipment and at times training for all users.
- Coordinates tours
- Provides administrative support and supports long-range calendar.
- May spearhead technical and facility related requirements of Hopkins Center and other programs at other locations on campus and as required off site.
