Job Purpose

The Division of Evaluation, Assessment, and Research within the School of Medicine, Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an Evaluation and Assessment Associate.  The Associate will work under the supervision of the Assistant Director/Senior Manager for Evaluation, Assessment, and Educational Research, and in collaboration with medical school leadership, faculty and professional staff. Work will include collaborative administration of online medical student evaluation surveys, and implementation of learning assessments including computer-based knowledge exams.  While faculty and professional staff with relevant expertise will contribute the primary content of these evaluations and assessments, the Associate will have primary responsibility for the design and ongoing management of the processes related to their administration. Candidates with an orientation toward complex work process development, teamwork, and quality improvement will be well suited to the position.

Job Duties
  • Serve as NBME Chief Proctor, and manage processes related to the administration of NBME examinations for the School of Medicine.
  • Provide training and serve as lead for administration of sub-groups of course evaluations and assessments, using an online evaluation/assessment system (E*Value).
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director as needed to manage completion of the team's qualitative analysis responsibilities, i.e. analyzing text-based course evaluation data to identify and report on emergent themes related to course improvement.
  • Contribute to the team's administration of meetings - including student/faculty curriculum evaluation lunches - aimed at collecting additional information for curricular improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with the Assistant Director/Senior Manager and other medical school faculty and staff to improve processes for the administration of evaluations and assessments such as knowledge and skills examinations.
  • Work directly with other teams from the medical school - e.g. Curriculum Office, Registrar's Office, Clinical Coordinators, Admissions, IT - to obtain student information and data relevant to existing and new processes and initiatives.
  • Work independently on complex projects and assignments using scheduling systems, software for word processing, and self-developed spreadsheets to process and store evaluation and assessment outcomes data.

 

Other
  • Preferred candidates will have a collaborative orientation, demonstrated experience in complex work process development, experience in managing complex work schedules, and experience with quality improvement.
  • Preferred candidates will also have data management, data processing, and data interpretation skills, including intermediate to advanced skills in software programs such as EXCEL or a comparable spreadsheet or data processing program.
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor's degree.
  • Required: Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred: Master's degree or higher in education, health sciences, business, other relevant graduate-level training.
  • Preferred: Five years of relevant administrative experience
