Job Description


Responsible for carrying out biostatistical support in clinical and basic research for the Global Tuberculosis Program. Will report directly to program director, work closely with the program manager, and partner/communicate directly with TB team members in Houston and at international sites. Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.

Job Duties
  • Designs and develops database systems for clinical and basic research.
  • Designs and develops statistical analysis applications for research.
  • Analyzes and interprets data for various research grants.
  • Designs, develops and maintains clinical practice records, forms and computer programs.
  • Designs and develops timely and accurate ad-hoc reports using advanced query techniques; provides analysis and interpretation of report data.
  • Identifies opportunities to provide the Program Director with clear reporting, analysis and metrics.
  • Partners with Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) officers and informatics team to develop reporting enhancements.
  • Trains users on new functionality as developed.
  • Problem solves and troubleshoots system issues.
  • Keeps informed of and write computer programs to implement new statistical techniques
Minimum Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or a related field.    
  • Required: Two years of relevant experience.
  • None Required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred: Master's degree in a related field.     
  • Proficiency in R programming language
