Job Purpose

The Computer Systems Administrator I analyzes and devises solutions to a wide variety of computer-related problems, both hardware and software. Advises users, compiles information, and maintains inventory for computer hardware and software purchases, upgrades, and licensing agreements.

Job Duties
  • Administers backup procedures on department and personal computers.
  • Analyzes computer problems and determines/implements solutions.
  • Compiles information about new computer hardware and software.
  • Maintains inventory of computer hardware and computer software, as well as licensing issues.
  • Assists in moving computer equipment.
  • Installs new computer equipment.
  • May maintain the departmental website.
Minimum Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement
  • No experience required with a Bachelor's degree in a related field
