Summary of Duties
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is responsible for the implementation, oversight and alignment of the business operations for the College of Social Work with more than 750 graduate, 450 undergraduate and over 400 students on the regional campuses. The CAO is the strategic business position in the College of Social Work and responsible for designing, implementing and directing the college’s financial, IT, operational and analytical functions and policies. Reporting to the Dean, this is a highly visible and high-impact position that helps shape the strategic direction of the college and oversee change management efforts in a manner aligned with the college’s entrepreneurial culture while simultaneously keeping a strong focus on sustainability and financial strength. The CAO serves as the senior fiscal officer and develops long-range budget structure, plans goals and advises the Dean on fiscal matters; establishes administrative policies, procedures and systems; assumes authority to approve business transactions and as a member of the senior leadership team, designs administrative policies and procedures; partners with college’s assigned HR business partner and consultant on the implementation and execution of college human resource functions to ensure compliance with University and internal HR policies and alignment with the organization’s strategy reinforcing the culture and values established by the Dean; supervises college business office, operational and support staff. Ensures operations are clearly aligned with the work of the college and the strategic priorities of the university. Reviews and analyzes existing systems and college functions and implements changes for improvement; Builds and reinforces a culture where business intelligence increases the college capacity to employ data as a tool for decision-making and management; Responsible for oversight and management of the College IT department including IT security surveys, IT audits and reinforcing best practices in IT security and technological innovation. Responsible for oversight and maintenance of the established financial and operational processing environment to ensure adherence to established internal control structures. This should include, but is not limited to, ensuring appropriate segregation of duties in the processing of all financial transactions, appropriate mandatory approvals and appropriate mandatory reconciliations.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; experience in an administrative capacity; knowledge of University policies, rules and regulations; knowledge of the principles and application of data processing functions; experience with university budget restructuring and forecasting; knowledge of OSURF policies and procedures.

Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree in an appropriate field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
