Job Description Summary
POSITION:
• 10-month potential tenure, clinical, or teaching track position at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. Appointments at Associate of Full professor level may also be considered for highly qualified applicants.
• Rank and salary commensurate with credentials and experience.
• Reports to the Chairperson, Department of Physical Therapy.

EXPECTATIONS:
Academic
• Teach human gross anatomy for the Departments of Physical and Occupational Therapy. Instruction includes preparation of prosections, lecturing, and supervising graduate students performing cadaver dissection. The majority of the teaching load is clinically oriented anatomy. Additional responsibilities will be based on candidate’s knowledge, but may include teaching neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, physiology, anthropology, or other basic science courses in graduate or undergraduate programs.
• Duties as assigned within the graduate Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy programs and undergraduate Biology program.

Scholarly Activity
• Engage in scholarly activities that contribute to a focused academic and professional body of knowledge. The extent of scholarship expected depends on the individual’s credentials and whether hired as tenure or non-tenure track.

Administrative
• Be compliant with New York State laws and regulations for a non-transplantation tissue bank.
Service
• Participate in University and Department committee assignments as assigned.

Clinical Practice
• If a licensed health care professional, clinical practice within the format permitted by Clarkson University may be negotiated. Such clinical practice should focus on the priority of enhancing scholarly activity.

Minimum Qualifications
CREDENTIALS/EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in cadaver dissection
• Prior teaching experience
• Terminal Academic degree (Ph.D., D.Sc., Ed.D., DHSc). Applicants in pursuit, with all but dissertation, may be considered

Preferred Qualifications
• Teaching experience at the graduate level in the Health Sciences
• Clinical background in one of the Health Sciences (i.e. MD, DPT, OT, DC)
