Position Summary:
The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for ensuring the design, maintenance, and implementation of application integration tools, database management systems and possess the technical expertise to be sure all systems are performing at optimal level. The individual in this position is also responsible for the overall coordination of select projects in the database area including staff coordination, status reporting, and stability of project-oriented work efforts. Implements processes to ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, customer expectations, and quality standards. The DBA is also responsible for customer requirements gathering and adjusting where needed to meet their requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Database and Banner ERP Administration – Coordinate activities and needs of the university data systems and serve as a senior level technical expert for troubleshooting issues that exist on the system. Responsible for overseeing the installation, administration, maintenance, technical support, and problem resolution for Oracle RDBMS, Oracle Application Servers, Apache Tomcat Servers and Ellucian Banner software and any systems with which they interface, both development and production
Support and maintenance of Evisions software including Argos, Form Fusion, and Intellecheck.
Project Management – Create, revise, and execute project plans including performing teamwork assignments, daily coordination and monitoring of work efforts, identifying resource needs, performing quality review, and escalating functional, technical, and organizational issues where appropriate. Responsible for tracking milestones, adjusting project plans, and resources to adhere to timelines and satisfy customer expectations.
Monitor and maintain the day-to-day operations of our ERP. Coordinate efforts between the DBA team, the Systems Analyst, and Programming team to be sure we maintain our ERP and plan future projects to keep all systems current. Also coordinate efforts between UIS and the Operations team.
Special projects, continuous professional and technical development, and additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience

Computer Software/Hardware:

Expertise in Oracle database, Oracle Weblogic and Apache Tomcat, Oracle SOA suite, and Banner Administration.
Competence with Linux, SQL, and PL/SQL.
Knowledge of project management disciplines and methodology and change management.

5+ years of related application infrastructure, database administration, or 5+ years of technical programming.

Advanced professional, senior level role, requiring expertise in Oracle Database Administration that also has extensive experience with middleware integration. Working knowledge of Oracle WebLogic and Tomcat Application Services. Strong database administration, ERP administration, and project management skills to take lead on upgrades and conversions.

Ability to learn, implement and adapt to new technology quickly. Good organizational, planning, communication, and technical skills. Extensive knowledge of Oracle database, application services, and Banner. Project management expertise.
