Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:
Teach eight courses in American domestic and/or international history, in online and in-person delivery methods, participation in the graduate program, service assignments.

Minimum Qualifications & Salary:
• Candidates must hold a PhD in History or closely related field (e.g., American Studies) by the time of employment;
• specialization in U.S. history, as demonstrated by dissertation topic or peer-reviewed publications;
• experience teaching American history courses at collegiate level as an instructor of record.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience participating in programs designed for incoming students;
• experience teaching online and in-person courses;
• experience teaching sections of 80 or more students;
• experience in academic service, such as recruitment and outreach;
• teaching experience or equivalent professional experience in African American, public, or women's history.

Information about Program and College:
The Department of History is located within the College of Arts and Sciences. The Department currently has 13 full-time faculty, and 100 undergraduate majors and 32 graduate students. The Department offers a Bachelor Art degree in History; a minor in History and Canadian Studies. We offer a Master of Arts degree in History, and graduate certificates in Public History, and History for Professionals and Teachers. We have a robust internship program that places students in local museums and cultural heritage organizations. There are two student organizations available to our students. The Department of History is dedicated to national distinction as an intellectual community that fosters personal commitment to research, critical thinking, diversity and inclusion, and the centrality of liberal education.
