- Teaching courses in the areas of Geotechnical Engineering, Geosciences, Mining Engineering and Structural Engineering.
- Strengthening the Department’s ability to study the experimental behavior of soils from a holistic point of view, from traditional geotechnical tests to cutting-edge methods on singular soils and their link to and impact on practical problems.
- Generating and participating in interdisciplinary projects.
- Strengthening and creating national and international academic networks.
- Leading scientific and industry-liaison initiatives.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with emphasis on Geotechnical Engineering at the time of hiring.
