Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in biological sciences or a related field. Knowledge of the general techniques used in molecular biology and biochemistry is expected. Exceptional candidates without prior experience will be considered if they demonstrate a willingness to learn and possess strong critical thinking and attention to detail. The candidate must be self-motivated, organized, communicate effectively, and be a team player. A minimum of an 18 month commitment is required.

Supervision Received:

This position will report directly to Dr. Jagannathan who will provide constructive feedback and necessary training.



Supervision Exercised:

The person in this position will be expected to pass on any training or experience they have that is relevant to their work to other people within the laboratory.



Examples of Work Performed:

RNA biochemistry, molecular cloning, mammalian tissue culture, biochemical assays, high-throughput sequencing library preparation, training other junior members of the lab, and general laboratory management.
