Academic Affairs Support Technician
Allan Hancock College is accepting applications for a full-time, 37-hour per week, 12 month position supporting the Academic Affairs Department and reporting to the Assoicate Superintendent/Vice President, Academic Affairs. The desired start date is February 2019. The successful candidate must pass a Department of Justice clearance and a pre-employment health and physical before the start date.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

• The starting salary is $3,223 per month (range 18, $3,223 to $3,918 per month on the classified bargaining unit salary schedule).
• Benefits include medical, dental, life, vision (employee only), salary protection insurance, and eligibility for PERS retirement.

Under supervision of the Associate Superintendent/Vice President, Academic Affairs, performs responsible and comprehensive clerical and data entry work for the office and interprets departmental policies, procedures, and regulations; values and promotes the mission and vision of the college.

An incumbent in this position will perform a variety of responsible, clerical, and data entry work with limited supervision. The incumbent must possess a broad knowledge of functions of the academic affairs unit, and a variety of other data entry and report production operations which are attendant to and related to the office of academic affairs. Accuracy in data entry and the ability to produce necessary documents and reports in accordance with timelines and in an accurate manner is emphasized. The incumbent will interface directly with department chairs, academic deans and instructional support staff in such processes as information gathering and dissemination for the part-time faculty evaluation process and fulfill other instructional needs.

1. Maintains and edits the academic data system associated with production of faculty evaluations and maintains records, room inventory and information, etc.
2. Checks computer printouts for accuracy and completeness.
3. Prepares records and assists with the design and preparation of reports required for instructional analysis and effective management of instructional programs.
4. Maintains utilization records of instructional facilities and offices and proposes reallocations as appropriate.
5. Maintains a continuous interface with instructional departments as they relate to academic affairs concerns.
6. Provides support to Curriculum Specialist with scanning and filing electronic and hard copies of all official college course outlines and related content.
7. Assists with processing of curriculum proposals and related content for the production of the schedule of classes.
8. Serves as the technical support person to instructional departments with respect to the room scheduling system.
9. Assists with classroom assignments and room conflict scheduling.
10. Updates data systems related to academic affairs functions.
11. Assists with preparation of notice of assignments.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
