Position Summary
The faculty will be responsible for educational leadership, student instruction, and student advising in Plastics & Polymer Engineering Technology programs.

Abilities and Skills
*Developed organizational skills. (Minimum)
*Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. (Minimum)
*Working knowledge of equipment requisite to the teaching area. (Minimum)
*Competency in PC based design and simulation software, i.e., Moldflowtm, Inventortm, etc. (Desired)

*Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Science, Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related discipline. (Minimum)
*Master’s degree in Polymer Science, Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related discipline. (Desired)
*Undergraduate studies in Polymer Science, Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related discipline from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). (Desired)

*Four (4) years of Industrial experience in plastics manufacturing. (Minimum)
*Successful teaching and curriculum development experience at the college/university level. (Desired)

Responsibilities and Duties
-Instruct and evaluate students in Plastics Technology and Plastics Engineering Technology. (Essential)
-Advise, schedule, and maintain accurate records on students. (Essential)
-Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines. (Essential)
-Write and update course syllabi; assist with curriculum review, revision, and development. (Essential)
-Engage in professional development and technological upgrading activities. (Essential)
-Contribute to the betterment of the College through School wide committee participation. (Essential)
-Contribute to the betterment of the College through College-wide committee participation. (Marginal)
-Assist with laboratory development, coordination, and maintenance. (Essential)
-Assist with the preparation of grant proposals and with follow-up activities. (Essential)
-Assist Department Head with the design in development of instructional material lists, equipment specifications, program review, department budget requests, and assist in planning and development of master schedule. (Essential)
-Collect, maintain, and analyze student outcomes assessment data for use within Department and School. (Essential)
-Attend College, School and Department meetings as scheduled. (Essential)
-Assist in providing tours and student recruitment activities scheduled by the College, School, and/or Department. (Essential)
