Many careers offer challenge and growth. But when you join the Power Sources Technology Group (PSTG) at Sandia National Laboratories, you’ll have the rare opportunity to elevate your impact. As part of this group, team members play a critical role in our nation’s strategy that develops, delivers, and assures the performance of power source components for nuclear weapons and innovative solutions for other national security challenges. The PSTG utilizes the latest scientific and engineering technologies to research, design, develop, and produce power sources used for NNSA, DoD, DOE, NASA, and commercial applications. A key of this organization is to advance power source technologies to meet both current and future energy needs.

The PSTG provides research, engineering design/development, and production of thermal batteries, thermoelectrics, lithium primary and secondary batteries, novel battery chemistries, component and materials surveillance, and battery abuse testing research. Power source technology is a growth area both within the Nuclear Deterrence program and Energy and Geosciences program.
