Job Description

The Senior Financial Administrator will provide professional level financial analysis to the Pittsburgh Trauma Research Center (PTRC). Position requires the appropriate application of a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in the field of research accounting, Pre and Post-award administration, and financial analysis. Requires a knowledge of FAR Clauses, Uniform Guidance, OTA's, and budgeting. Monthly duties will include the reconciliation of various awards and discretionary accounts. Includes analysis and distribution of monthly complex financial reports, expense and revenue recordings and expense approvals, maintaining accurate data, as well as assisting the director with the yearly department budget process. Accurate SPAR and ECC distributions. Processing subaward agreements and amendments for all sites as well as consulting agreements, equipment maintenance, and any other purchasing related tasks.


Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required. Master's degree or Certification in Research Administration is preferred. The incumbent must have advanced knowledge of accounting principles, experience in medical research, grant/contract administration, and familiarity with funding agencies, preferably the Department of Defense. CRA Preferred Department Manager (IT Works software) experience preferred. PERIS and Contraxx experience preferred.
