OU-Physicians Tulsa Central Billing Office has an opening for a Patient Account Representative (PAR) to assist in working all denials and outstanding accounts due from private insurance payers.  The primarily responsibility of this position will be to denials.  Also, you will work claims still pending with insurance, file secondary insurances and file some paper claims. 

 

We will consider an applicant who meet the requirements for either of the following levels of PAR's. 

 

 

Patient Acct Rep:

 

Under general supervision, may participate in any or all aspects of the claim processing and accounts receivable functions of the organization including billing, charge entry, collection, registration, follow-up, and credit balance resolution.

 

Sr. Patient Acct Rep: 

Under general supervision, may participate in any or all aspects of the claims processing and accounts receivable functions of the organization including billing, charge entry, collection, registration, follow-up, and credit balance resolution.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirement: 

 

High School Diploma or GED. 

 

Patient Acct Rep:

 

Must have 18 months recent experience in medical billing, medical collections, medical billing systems (Allscripts, Epic or other).  Salary: $12.50 - $15.23 per hr. based on experience.

 

Sr. Patient Acct Rep:

 

Must have 24 months recent experience in medical billing, medical collections, medical billing systems (Allscripts, Epic or other). Salary: $14.38 - $16.75 per hr. based on experience.

 

Required Skills:

 

Proficient skills in data entry, medical account reconciliation, and charge entries appropriate to level of experience. 

Must have proficiency with the following Microsoft Office programs: Office and Outlook.

Must have the ability to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer.  

Excellent customer service skills and must be able to work successfully with a diverse group of faculty, other staff, and patients.

Must be able to follow directions and work as part of a team.

Must be able to follow patient safety and confidentiality (HIPAA) guidelines.

 

 

Assets

 

CPT and ICD-9 coding experience; Allscripts and EMR experience.

Experience working in a large practice with several providers.

Experience working with government insurance plans. 

 

 

Advertised Physical Requirements: 

 

Standard administrative office environment and exposure, including frequent keyboarding.  Up to 25% of this position will require mobility (moving from one room or building to another; etc.)
