Provide technology support and related activities to Burris Laboratory School.

Job Function:

Provide technology support and related activities to Burris Laboratory School.

Minimum Education:

Associate's degree or equivalent in computer technology or related technical field.

Preferred Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field.

Minimum Experience:

Over one through three years of directly related experience; good understanding of Windows and Mac hardware and software, printers, audio/visual equipment, wireless technology, and related peripherals; customer service experience; good troubleshooting skills; good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

Experience as a school technology coordinator; knowledge and ability to integrate the use of technology as a part of the school curriculum; ability to work with students, teachers, and staff to independently trouble shoot and/or fix computers, peripherals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, deploy, and support the student iPad technology to all students enrolled in K-12.
  • Address computer related problems and/or troubleshoot computers, peripherals or software problems within Burris Laboratory School.
  • Maintain an inventory of Burris technology equipment; submit a technology replacement plan to Burris Admin and Information Technology on a yearly basis.
  • Configure, setup, and maintain equipment used within classrooms.
  • Create and deploy images for support of Burris computer labs, Burris library and public spaces.
  • Collaborate with UTS technology support staff to stay up to date with current technology.
  • Collaborate with Burris faculty and staff in technology-related grant writing.
  • Manage the Internet filtering system in cooperation with the other Information Technology staff.
  • In conjunction with the principal, Burris technology committee and Unified Technology Support manage the school-wide process for technology acquisition and integration.
  • Provide support for teachers in integrating technology in their curriculum.
  • Provide training and support infrastructure for teachers to increase the use of technology as a part of daily instruction and assessment.
  • Recommend and install educational software.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
