Position Function: As an Assistant Teaching Professor, and a full-time faculty member of Educational Studies in Adult and Community Education, the successful candidate will teach online doctoral- and masters-level courses including shared courses in both doctoral programs. The faculty member will direct the online master’s degree programs in Adult and Community Education and Executive Development for Public Service, along with their related certificate programs. They will be involved in course scheduling and serve on doctoral committees. The faculty member will work effectively with diverse populations of students, colleagues, and members of the community. The faculty must be available for on-campus instruction, advising, and professional service. This position starts effective the first day of fall semester 2023.
• Teaching: Responsibilities include teaching 3-4 graduate level courses related to adult and community education. Instructional duties will include advising master’s students and doctoral candidates on coursework and integrative projects or doctoral dissertations.
• Scholarship: The faculty member will be encouraged to participate in conferences and collaborate with peers on projects, publications, and/or grants.
• Service: Provide professional service by serving on department, college, University, and professional organization committees, as appropriate. Provide service such as student recruitment, participation in information sessions, and program improvement.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate or evidence that a doctorate will be conferred by the date of employment in adult education, community education, or a closely related field. Relevant and successful teaching experience or potential to teach adult education courses designed to serve multiple graduate programs. Qualifications align with graduate faculty status within the department and university. Ability to teach and conduct academic duties in an online environment. Knowledge and experience in working with diverse student populations.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications: Earned doctoral degree in adult education, community education, or a closely related field. Evidence of openness and expertise in leadership and/or collaborative engagement with peers and colleagues. A commitment to strengthening and supporting growth in our programs. Experience teaching using online and distance-learning course delivery methods. Experience advising graduate students, chairing, or serving on doctoral committees. Experience working with community organizations, community education, and/or governmental organizations. Experience with community engagement or service-learning activities. Evidence of scholarly activities (i.e., publications, research, and grants) related to adult and community education. Experience working with multicultural, international, and diverse learners.
