The primary responsibility of this position is the annotation, compilation, and analysis of volumetric multispectral (“Brainbow”) image sets of neural networks in the mouse brain. This will provide “ground truth” reconstruction results to be used to develop automated tracing algorithms via machine learning.

Temporary Laboratory Research Technician needed in the Department of Biology.

Job Function:

The primary responsibility of this position is the annotation, compilation, and analysis of volumetric multispectral (“Brainbow”) image sets of neural networks in the mouse brain. This will provide “ground truth” reconstruction results to be used to develop automated tracing algorithms via machine learning.

Minimum Education:

Bachelors of science or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

One semester of research experience in any field.

Preferred Experience:

More than one year of research experience in any field.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manually annotating (“tracing”), compiling, and correcting Brainbow volumetric data image sets of neural networks.
  • Manually annotating (“tracing”), compiling, and correcting Brainbow volumetric data image sets of neural networks.
  • Preparing oral and written reports, package and distribute results for project collaborators
  • Familiarization with the current research needs and goals in the field of connectomics.
  • Participation in bi-weekly virtual meetings of the Brain Initiative – Cell Consortium Network
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and manuscripts for publication
  • Lab resource management
  • Other miscellaneous job related duties as assigned
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance as required by this position.
