Take the next step in helping OU become a leading global force in making OU degrees and programs available to individuals and organizations around the world, transforming them through learning! The College of Professional and Continuing Studies (PACS) is pleased to announce our search for the Director of Finance and Operations. The Director of Finance and Operations is responsible for providing strategic leadership and has full oversight of the financial and operations of PACS. The qualified candidate must have a passion for innovation and strategic thinking along with the discipline to establish policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient staff and fiscal governance. The successful candidate will have an accessible and collegial leadership style along with the creativity and energy to guide the units through strategic growth and change management. Reporting to the Dean, the position will directly manage and provide guidance to a team of employees as well as serve on the executive leadership team within the college. This position will be responsible for developing and monitoring budgets for departments within PACS and the college at large. Other key responsibilities include planning, forecasting and practicing good stewardship. An ideal candidate will be self-motivated and take initiative to find ways to operate more effectively and efficiently, as well as be able to communicate the financial picture to the dean and other department directors.

Primarily focusing on the higher education needs of place-bound working adults, military-connected personnel, and those seeking specialized study in selected professional areas, the College of Professional and Continuing Studies offers a variety of degrees at both graduate and undergraduate levels, including several programs offered collaboratively with other OU colleges. Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field, AND: 

  • 36 months experience in financial/accounting position to include analysis, auditing and budgeting.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months experience in lieu of BS Degree for a total of 84 months of experience. 

Skills:

  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively.
  • Strong initiative to solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and control systems.
  • Ability to compile, analyze, interpret, and present complex annual financial reports, statements, and/or projections.
  • Knowledge of a range of automated financial systems and applications software.
  • Knowledge of the principles, processes, and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting as related to a public institutions.
  • Database management skills.

  • Expertise in strategic decision-making with the ability to seamlessly align policies and practices.
  • Proven supervisor with experience and passion for mentoring and developing leaders. 
  • Proficiency with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, online systems, and the internet, as well as online calendaring and email. 
  • Experience in fiscal management, working with budgets, allocating funding and monitoring outcomes.
