The Ball State University Digital Corps is an on-campus creative agency powered by students. We’re problem solvers and big thinkers. The role of the Technology Communication Team Lead is a one-of-a-kind position that combines the best of technical communication skills with the altruistic aims of empowering students to learn, grow, and succeed in their creative discipline. Ideal candidates will have a shared passion for student success and technical communication. Part teacher, part writer, part mentor, part techie… this position requires face-to-face work with undergraduate students and hands-on work with all aspects of technical communication.

Position Function: The Technology Communication Team Lead in Digital Corps will support the messaging and technical communication needs of the Division of Information Technology while supported by – and providing guidance to – a team of students within the Digital Corps. By utilizing a wide variety of delivery tools, and by leveraging a talented team of students, the Communication Team Lead aims to create clear, concise, informative, and meaningful communication strategies on behalf of Information Technology and for the clients of the Digital Corps.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in English, creative writing, technical writing, communication, or a related technical field from an accredited institution by date of appointment. Or, in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree: an Associate’s degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in communication equivalent to two years, or a high school diploma or GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in communication equivalent to four years. At least two years of communications experience.
Minimum Other: A successful candidate will have excellent writing and editing skills, and the patience to lead, train, and coach undergraduate students in the field of communication strategy. In addition, crucial soft skills – like time management, collaboration, and creativity – are highly valued. Must be able to use a word processing program.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in communication and presentation skills; ability to quickly adapt
and become familiar with university processes and procedures and quickly establish rapport and confidence among multiple university units and levels of the organization. Ability to meet with end users to capture and understand needs and processes to make informed recommendations for process improvement or system solutions.

The salary range for this position is: $58,000
