Job Summary

The responsibilities of the Academic Success Coordinator is to focus on undergraduate student success, retention and progression toward graduation at Augusta University. The primary responsibility is to educate students on academic success techniques and strategies through our comprehensive coaching program. This includes operating the CRLA coaching and mentoring training program; recruiting and training 20-30 student workers annually; managing a robust peer coaching program; facilitating group workshops; meeting with individual students to develop success plans, and; collaborating with faculty and staff on specific student academic issues as they arise. Additional responsibilities include utilizing and providing data analysis and reports on student progression using Navigate, our student success software.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:
Manage the academic success programming in designated areas 
Developing and maintaining a coaching/ mentoring program for all AU students. Developing and implementing effective processes for student-coaching including recruitment, screening, orientations, pedagogical training programs, and professional development. Developing a comprehensive coaching schedule. Manage coach work schedules and provide ongoing supervision for large coaching staff. Work closely with ASC office manager for payroll and documentation of student coaches.

Support the goals of the ASC throughout the university
Collaborating and communicating with faculty regarding subject matter content to ensure tutoring supports academic course content. Providing feedback and follow-up with faculty on student progress. In conjunction with the Executive Director, serving as liaison and collaborating with appropriate University programs, services, organizations, to develop programing to promote students' academic success.

Engage in data collection and develop progress reports throu 
Maintaining data related to student enrollment, attendance, retention and tracking of benchmarks for program assessment.Creating regular reports on tutoring services.

Develop a virtual presence for ASC
Develop online learning modules in academic specialty field to supplement general education coursework.

Engage with students to promote academic success skills 
Provide one-on-one or group workshops in academic content areaProvide one-on-one support to students in academic life-skills as needed.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Master's Degree from accredited college or University in related field and two years of experience working with diverse student populations.

Preferred Experience
Knowledge of program development, data gathering, assessment and evaluation skills
Excellent problem solving and organizational skills with the ability to recognize opportunities and experience in developing innovative programs.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE
Experience with college students and academic support programming
Demonstrated experience with Navigate and software related to student success
Demonstrated ability in working as part of a team, establishing rapport and collaborating with a variety of organization stakeholders
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint or comparable software programs. Experience with BANNER and student tracking software preferred
Multicultural competencies, knowledge and experience working and interacting effectively with diverse groups of staff, faculty, and student populations

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

Pay Grade: 15

Salary: Minimum $38,913.00/Annually - $46,000.00/Annually

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
