Job Summary

Augusta University Online (AUO) is a major, multi-million-dollar strategic effort sponsored by the President to take us into the 21st century with advanced learning models for all AU students. Seeking to become a best-in-class provider of online education, AUO will act as an internal OPM (Online Program Management) unit deploying the most advanced learning technologies and methods to support our faculty in the development of leading-edge online instruction. Recruiting high quality learners who will be able take advantage of a course quality and engaging learning experience is essential to the success of the new unit.
Augusta University is one of four major public research universities in the State of Georgia, boasting one of the oldest and largest Medical Schools in the country, the only Dental School in the state and the only public nursing school in Georgia. As such, AU is a leading provider and innovator of healthcare services and instruction. Our school of Cyber and Computer science support the US Cyber Central Command which is also located in Augusta and is responsible for $4.7 billion investment in our region and our nation's cyber security. AU Online is looking to fill a senior leader to support our online Marketing & Enrollment functions. Specifically, we seek a Director of Online Enrollment who will report to the AVP for Strategy Marketing & Enrollment Management and will serve as a strong team player to oversee AU Online's daily enrollment and admissions workflows and operations. They should be comfortable making independent decisions and taking actions across their areas of responsibilities to ensure projects meet deadlines and the department meets online enrollment targets with a deep experience in online enrollment management practices, policies and technologies. As this role will have considerable managerial responsibilities, experience leading others and managing teams to outstanding outcomes, is an important set of skills and experiences that must be demonstrated.

The Director of Online Enrollment will drive engagement and create a dynamic climate where teams will be motivated to help the organization achieve its 16,000 enrollments by 2030 objective. They will build partnerships internally & externally and work collaboratively with others to achieve this common goal. By providing direction & vision while streamlining process in the areas of online enrollment & recruitment, the director will meet aggressive enrollment targets.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:
Strategy 
Share accountability for actively managing online enrollment & driving increases in targeted online student populations that are both budget & enrollment goals.
Drive innovation in the prospective online student experience & journey by assessing performance at every stage
Identify strategic & tactical concepts designed to increase start performance & lower cost per start.
Manage other third-party products, relationships & vendors serving online students.
Provide enrollment performance updates, growth opportunities, risks & mitigations/resolutions for online programs in a manner that highlights an in-depth understanding of online enrollment strategy.
Develop new processes & modify existing ones in collaboration with other stakeholders to improve efficiency & overall effectiveness.
Hold self & others accountable to meet commitments.
Provide strategic direction regarding issues relating to systems, reporting & the database, including procedures, status definitions, etc. for new student acquisition.
Collaborate with leadership in marketing, admissions, education, and technology to ensure alignment with ongoing priorities.
Solicit & develop ideas to help increase performance in new student admissions and retention while leading the organization in creating & implementing those initiatives.
Operations 
Evaluate technology needs to support strategic initiatives; collaborate with IT & academic and functional departments to maximize use of technology (CRM, LMS, marketing automation, etc) for operational efficiency, student services, and data analytics.
Assess & improve online processes & tools to increase efficiencies, ensure enrollment's alignment as programs scale.
Be a subject matter expert for each degree program by fully understanding curriculum, structure, notable faculty, program value & industry knowledge or trends to ensure all prospective students receive accurate information.

Work collaboratively with other teams and functions such as the Director of Graduate Admission Operations & the Director of Financial Aid, among others to ensure that all resources are consistent & up to date to facilitate successful processes, strategies & interdepartmental initiatives

Reporting, Analysis & Data Visualization 
Ensure a focus on data-driven, experiential and learner focused activities at all points of engagements throughout the online enrollment funnel.
Serve as a strategic advisor to enrollment leadership, providing insight, research, analysis, and assessment of ideas and initiatives.
Develop analytical insights that inform the team's overall approach to enrollment management and expansion of Augusta University Online.
Regularly collect and analyze data on online students to understand performance gaps and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Provide support to leadership, including preparation of presentations for executive leadership.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators for marketing, recruitment, and enrollment outreach activities.
Develop trend analyses for use in forecasting and goal setting.
Manage third party analytics/research vendor relationships.
Track, analyze, and report on team metrics, and meet key performance indicators of service levels, customer satisfaction, online enrollment conversion rates, and other measures of success.
Customer Service 
Deep understanding of what it takes to qualify new inquiries and applications for various degree programs through meaningful service-driven conversations and guide prospects from new inquiry to admitted student phase of the student lifecycle
Comprehensively assess prospective student circumstances, assist in quickly addressing critical areas and creating strategies to address to offer solutions
Deep knowledge in customizing the student conversation approach, content, and structure to align with what is in the best interest of the student and contributes to the overall business need from first point of inquiry to registration
General responsibilities
Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university; business or sales degrees preferred
5+ years of progressively responsible management experience in a higher education setting

Required Experience
Successful experience leading and managing a college or university traditional and/or online admissions program
Deep understanding in contact center and related sales tools to help increase performance in new student admissions and retention
Demonstrated application and knowledge of KPI's that are predictive of enrollment conversion success
Demonstrated success with developing and driving a team of enrollment counselors to deliver quality enrollment conversions from inbound and outbound communication.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
Experience with Slate and Salesforce
Experience with marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot or Marketing Cloud
Experience with how business process and technology integration impacts achieving targets
Knowledge of customer service and inbound contact center handling procedures

KNOWLEDGE
Experience in financial aid leveraging and best practices
Previous experience in higher education recruitment and enrollment is a must.
Proven track record in establishing successful partnerships with academic units and other stakeholders

A demonstrated record of using technology and data in developing and implementing an effective enrollment and recruitment plan
Significant quantitative skills with the ability to take data and make sense of it to make informed decisions.
Exceptional problem-solving, strategic planning and analytic skills.
Exemplary communication skills (both written and verbal) as well as strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

Pay Grade: 24

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
