Rider University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice to begin on September 1, 2023. J

The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice currently offers undergraduate majors in Sociology and Criminal Justice along with a minor in Social Work. We are now expanding our offering with the development of a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) to begin in the Fall of 2024.

We are seeking candidates who have previous experience in Social Work, either in an academic setting or in practice, who can assist with the development of the BSW program. The candidate will be involved in program development and assessment, including preparation for Council of Social Work and Education (CSWE) accreditation. The candidate must have an understanding of the CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards. Ideally, the candidate should have experience working with CSWE and a demonstrated commitment to the profession and practice of social work.

Position Requirements

The successful candidate must have an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, and a Ph.D., DSW, or EdD. Candidates who are A.B.D. will be considered but must have a degree in hand at the time of appointment. Candidates with appropriate research and teaching qualifications may apply for tenure after a minimum of one year.

The candidate must have an understanding of the CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards. Ideally, the candidate should have experience working with CSWE and a demonstrated commitment to the profession and practice of social work.
