Position Summary:
Join the UA Museum of the North's Education and Public Programs team! Share your passions for art, culture, and natural history. Work with educators, families, and youth to facilitate connections to museum collections.
Duties:
Educational Programming: Facilitate learning opportunities for community members, students, and families. Create and deliver content for museum family programs, school outreach, and events.Museum Kits and Teaching Collection: Maintain museum kits. Inventory kit contents and regularly assess for maintenance and content update needs. Enter collections objects into object database and track loans in database. Maintain accurate records. Reach out to school and homeschool audiences to promote kit program and model use. Manage loans.
The UA Museum of the North seeks a part-time outreach specialist. As a member of the Education and Public Programs division, the outreach specialist will facilitate learning opportunities for community members, students, and families. The outreach specialist will work on family programming and event planning including Junior Curators, after school outreach, and other events and projects as assigned. Work includes content creation, creating and maintaining partnerships, and working with the public. The outreach specialist will also work with the museum’s educational kit program: maintaining kits, updating the object and loan database, reaching out to school and homeschool audiences, and managing loans.

Attention to detail is crucial. Ability to work collaboratively and with diverse audiences is necessary.

This is a part-time, non-exempt, temporary position. New hires will be placed on the UA staff temporary salary schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING: At least one year of teaching or interpretive experience, in either a formal or informal learning environment.
