Summary

The Holder lab seeks to understand the genetic and neurologic basis of Neurodevelopmental and Neuropsychiatric disorders. The technician for this position will be excited to expand their knowledge and skills in basic science research. Duties will include DNA isolation from various human and mouse tissue. Polymerase chain reaction, DNA agarose gel preparation and electrophoresis. Analysis and documentation of PCR results. The Research technician be rigorous and meticulous.

Job Duties

  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
  • Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
  • Documents results of experiments.
  • Enters data into research database.
  • Selects, evaluates and applies techniques used in routine research.
  • Cleans equipment and work area.
  • Conducts DNA isolation from various human and mouse tissue.
  • Works on polymerase chain reaction, DNA agarose gel preparation and electrophoresis.
  • Analyzes and documents PCR results.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biological science, neuroscience is desirable. 
  • Be rigorous and meticulous.
