We are looking for a part-time Speech Language Pathologist to join our team!

Duties:

  • Provides clinical education support to graduate students interns in speech-language pathology at appropriate levels for the skill level of each individual intern
  • Works with SLP graduate interns to provide evidenced-based services for assigned clients/patients in the John W. Keys Clinic or any off-site assigned rotation.
  • Discusses the client/patient history, evaluations and treatment plans with SLP graduate interns to prepare them to provide the appropriate services for the client/patient.
  • Works to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. 
  • Works effectively with individuals having diverse social, cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Provides techniques and exercises to diminish and improve linguistic challenges. 
  • Provides counseling to patients and their families and consultations for new patients.
  • Prepares engaging exercises and activities to use during treatment  sessions with patients. 
  • Evaluates patients and recommends appropriate services or treatment. 
  • Creates individualized treatment plans that addresses specific functional needs. 
  • Creates goals and objectives for patients to work toward and identify areas of progress and challenges.
  • Attends continuing education courses and works to advance personal knowledge and experience within the field. 
  • Responsible for keeping accurate records and documenting billing information. 
  • Records initial evaluations and diagnoses, tracks treatment progress, and notes any changes in an individual's condition or treatment plan.
  • Collaborates with professionals and family members appropriate for the individual client/patient.
  • Educates patients, family, or caregivers on treatment and needs of the client/patient.
  • Performs various duties as needed to fulfill the functions of the position.
  • May teach undergraduate/graduate seminars or courses per area of expertise as assigned.
 

Job Requirements

Education: Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology.

Certifications or Licenses: Licensed in Speech Language Pathology by the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and other patient privacy laws.
  • Proficient working with computer software used for documentation and report preparation.
  • Attention to detail when handling and documenting important medical information.
  • Ability to be professional and patient when explaining procedures and processes to patients, family, or care givers.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
