Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Sociology at the assistant professor rank. The position start date is August 1, 2023. The position is contingent upon funding.

The successful candidate will be committed to social justice and is expected to teach courses in their areas of expertise at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Evidence of teaching experience, an active research agenda, and professional activity are expected.

Required Education
A terminal degree in Sociology or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.

Other Desirables
Special consideration will be given to applicants with teaching and research expertise in one of the following areas: deviance, drug/addiction studies, criminology, juvenile delinquency, family violence, race/ethnicity, sex trafficking, sociology of law, and social justice/activism.
