Job DescriptionA Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in Translational Research with Dr. Arlene Drack in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science. Our lab has successfully rescued retinal degeneration in a mouse model of human disease, and we plan to expand the diseases we can rescue. The successful candidate will lead studies on gene transfer and other preclinical treatment trials in mouse models of human genetic retinal disorders, perform analysis of clinical data from human patients with the disorders studied, and ultimately help move treatments to human clinical trials.
A PhD degree in Genetics, Cell Biology, Immunology or related field.
Experience in mouse handling, mouse genetics and husbandry and phenotyping techniques. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient with computer software including MicroSoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and Excel database software.
