Rider University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) invites applications for an Assistant Athletic Director for Video and Live Event Production. Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director, External Operations & Senior Women’s Administrator, this individual will manage all aspects of the creative and technical video production initiatives within the athletic department, including oversight of all live events streaming on ESPN digital networks and BroncVision, the department’s broadcast network. The successful individual will work directly with the University’s School of Communication, Media and Performing Arts in an effort to recruit and train student workers, broadcast technicians, on-air talent and media producers. This position will serve an integral role in Rider’s sports media major, an immersive on-campus learning program. 
 
The Assistant Athletic Director for Video and Live Event Production will also produce, direct and distribute weekly (and post-event) highlight shows, team introduction videos for volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball and wrestling as well as various feature pieces promoting the department on GoBroncs.com, the school’s official athletic department website, and various social media channels. Individual will also oversee the utilization of the video board and technology related to production equipment for events conducted in Alumni Gym.

Position Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Three years of experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Live sporting event or broadcast production experience in a control room or broadcast truck environment
  • Detailed understanding of cabling, broadcast audio, camera operation, video servers, broadcast switchers, and CG graphics
  • Experience using professional video cameras and video editing software
  • Flexible to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience


  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Five years of experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of ESPN broadcasting standards
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Familiarity with Ross® and NewTek® video switchers and CG graphics
  • Experience directing and/or producing sports broadcasts
  • Relevant industry certifications
