Rider University invites applications for a Communications Specialist.  Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Specialist is responsible for producing written content on a variety of subjects for the university’s news website, social media, website, e-newsletters and other publications. The Communications Specialist will work with various departments and colleges within the university to increase Rider’s visibility through the development and distribution of communication materials, ensuring a quality and consistent brand. This position is responsible for the university’s social media accounts, including content, planning, day-to-day management and analysis.

Position Requirements

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field and three to five years of related experience. Additional skills the successful candidate demonstrates include strong written and oral communication skills; a proven ability to manage multiple projects from inception through execution; customer-service orientation; attention to detail; creativity in problem-solving; an ability to work independently and within a team environment; and is comfortable with social media and web technologies. 
 

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience

Higher education experience preferred.
