Job DescriptionA DoD-funded postdoc position is available at the Yang lab at UCLA/Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to continue an exciting research project (Nature communications, in press). Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cedars-Sinai_Medical_Center) is one of the largest academic medical centers in the United States. The Yang lab (https://www.cedars-sinai.edu/research/labs/yang.html) focuses on applying multi-disciplinary techniques, including cutting-edge proteomics methods, to identify novel clinically actionable targets and biomarkers in advanced prostate cancers and understand their mechanisms of action. We recently identified RIPK2 as a master stabilizer of c-Myc and a therapeutic target in prostate cancer metastasis (Nature Communications 2022, in press). The postdoctoral scientist position is funded by a new DoD Translational Science Award to translate our exciting new findings from bench to bedside to substantially extend patients’ lives and improve their quality of life. Annual salary starts from $62,400. Excellent benefits are provided.
Who You Are
• PhD in Oncology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
• Experience in cancer research, molecular cloning, CRISPR/Cas9, FACS, lentiviral infection, western blotting, immunoprecipitation, in vitro assays (migration, invasion, colony formation), and/or in vivo mouse experiments (intracardiac, orthotopic, intratibial injection).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong bioinformatic analysis skills are preferred but not required.
