An introduction to the structure and function of the genetic apparatus. This course is a study of what genes are and how they operate, and includes recent discoveries in the areas of DNA, RNA and protein synthesis in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Laboratory includes both discussion and practice of techniques used in genetic engineering.

This course will be taught in person on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:15 - 10:20 am during the 2021 fall term.

The lab meets in person on Thursday from 1:15 - 5:15 pm during the 2021 fall term.

Candidates should have an advanced degree, PhD preferred, in a relevant area of Biology, and should have a successful record of teaching experience in biology at the undergraduate level and familiarity/experience with online/hybrid instruction.
