Job Description

The University of Montana invites applications for Assistant Field Education Director/Clinical Assistant Professor to join the School of Social Work. This position is responsible for the supervision of practicum students, assisting students in integrating theory with practice, assisting students and agencies in meeting the requirements of a practicum experience, coordinating with faculty and agency field instructors in training students, building collaborative relationships with practicum agencies, coordinating with faculty members and advisors, and teaching 8-10 credits per academic year.

Position Details
Position is full-time, Academic Year (10 month), 1.0 FTE, non-tenurable Clinical Assistant Professor and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including Insurance package, mandatory retirement plan, partial tuition waiver, and wellness program.
Salary for this position is $55,000 - $58,000 per year commensurate with qualifications.

Required Skills
Possess a thorough ability to communicate with a wide variety of people in a precise and professional manner, both orally, electronically, and through written word
Ability to supervise both undergraduate and graduate social work students
Ability to supervise other faculty and staff in regards to field education tasks and activities
Ability to recruit and supervise Field Liaisons, Adjunct Faculty, and Outside MSW student supervisors
Sound organization and communication skills
Demonstrated experience and ability with Microsoft Office and Outlook
Willing to learn new software, policies and procedures
Be able to develop the Field Education program and keep up to date with best practices in the field

Required Experience
Master’s degree in Social Work
Minimum of two (2) years post-master’s level practice experience

Preferred Qualifications
Experience supervising graduate and undergraduate practicum students
Experience teaching courses at the graduate and graduate levels
Demonstrated experience in providing Master’s level supervision
Sound understanding of competency-based education
Working knowledge and understanding of CSWE (Council on Social Work Education) guidelines and standards in relation to field education and accreditation
Management Experience
Active licensure as a clinical social worker
