Position Description:

Fort Hays State University is seeking applicants for a full-time, 12 month position as an Assistant Intramural Director & Instructor in the Department of Health and Human Performance beginning fall July 1, 2020. Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities Include:

Provide leadership in Campus Intramural and Recreational Sports management and programming which includes, but is not limited to, student employment supervision, administration and programming of intramural & recreational activities and aquatics. Work with the Director of Campus Intramurals & Recreational Sports to hire, train and supervise the necessary staff to meet program and budget expectations. Develop program curriculum and promotion materials for intramurals & aquatics. Evaluate programs on a regular basis through written and oral process to assure high quality and future participation. Responsible for ensuring that the mission of the department and program is implemented. Provide leadership in recruiting and supervising student workers and graduate assistants assigned to Intramurals and Aquatics. Conduct staff meetings communication with department personnel. Prepare and manage aquatics programming, budget and participants. Supervise maintenance and operations to ensure facility and program safety. Provide instruction in HHP courses as assigned by department Chair and other duties as assigned by the Intramural Director and the HHP Chair.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Health and Human Performance or related field of study.
Three years of experience working at the collegiate level in intramural and recreation program and facility operations.
Aquatics management including staff training, programming, scheduling, budget, swim lessons, and daily operations.
The following certifications required WSI and CPO.
Experience with the administration of IM Leagues.
Preferred Qualifications:

University teaching experience.
Management skills including hiring, supervision, and evaluation of employees.
Marketing experience with social media outlets and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Experience with the administration Arbiter scheduling and Zoom.
Knowledge and experience in sports officiating.
