Administrative Coordinator

Coastal Carolina University is seeking candidates for the position of Administrative Coordinator (Administrative Coordinator I). The position, dually reporting to the Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Vice President for Executive Initiatives/Chief of Staff, facilitates and directs the administrative and office activities for both areas of the University.

Duties include but, are not limited to: Coordinating general administrative functions and managing budgets for two divisions (Diversity and Inclusion/Executive Initiatives); monitoring budget compliance and consulting with various areas regarding the availability of funds and preparation of funding requests; serving as procurement card liaison; primary purchaser for various areas in the divisions; travel coordinator for the two Vice Presidents, some direct reports to the Vice Presidents, candidates, and external agencies or individuals providing professional services. Interpreting University policies/procedures in order to serve as a resource for the various areas of Diversity and Inclusion/Executive Initiatives; providing guidance, sending updates, and/or coordinating trainings for the divisions as policies/procedures change; reviewing internal procedures to ensure maximum efficiency within the divisions. Maintaining the calendar for the two Vice Presidents, and other direct reports to the Vice Presidents; scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, reserving locations, completing work orders, and generating correspondence with internal and external constituents on behalf of these individuals. Conducting complex special assignments for the two divisions; and performing other duties as assigned by the Vice Presidents.

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. Seven (7) years’ experience or equivalent education, training and experience required. Additionally, a successful candidate should possess: knowledge of principles and procedures of office administration; proficiency using various computer programs to include: MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other web-based applications; excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills; the ability to comprehend and implement complex oral and written instruction(s); and the ability to handle highly confidential information, multiple tasks and regular interruptions.

Required Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Seven (7) years’ experience or equivalent education, training and experience required. Prior experience in an administrative position.
